McBess. Le Dead Plastique. 20-inch and 3-inch!

Melding the passions of French artist McBess, Le Dead Plastique is a black and white punch in the face. The 20-inch rock’n’roll incarnate is tatted up with a mesh of music, marauders, and meat paying special homage to dead pirates and pretzels.
What inspired this design?
I wanted to make this like an extension of my illustrations, simple black and white / rock and roll character, with big bold text on him, something with a lot of impact like a punch on the cheek.
Is there any significance to your band, The Dead Pirates, rock, roll or your meat iconography?
Of course, this is all a big meat-pie, this toy is summing up everything that I do, the band, the drawings, the food…this should be like a icon for what I do.
Is it post-modern rock and roll?
Well I listen to a lot of different type of rock but the main veins are 70′s, stoner and psychedelic rock’n'roll, but overall it’s link to the music that I love to do because of it’s simplicity and contrast. I see him as the incarnation of rock’n'roll itself

Andrew Bell x Ferg's "Mahākāla Misfortune Cat" going into production?!?

Recently Ferg let it slip that one of his upcoming releases was an Andrew Belldesigned "Misfortune Cat," which — based on the previously released Ryniak one — we're guessing will be a production version of "Mahākāla Misfortune Cat" (pictured above) that Bell created for 2010's Reconstructing Misfortune show. This is purely guesswork and there is no news regarding release dates, but we can't wait to see how this project finally manifests.

Reactor-88 Phantom Totem Skullhead Dunny

My latest commission- an eight-inch Kidrobot Huck Gee Skullhead Dunny. It’s kind of nice to actually see the light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to my list. I’ve been saying this the last few years, but I can honestly say there’s a chance I will once again open up my commission list later this year. I’ll probably be very selective with the projects I take on though. While I still love painting platform toys, I’ll be branching out a bit and working on other types of things that will take the majority of my time. Hopefully a few of these projects actually happen- I’m pretty excited and hope you guys will be too.

Came across this older post from Reactor 88, love this Huck dunny shape and their design.

Heavy Trooper Vasquez by Huck Gee

Long before there was the Dread Squad, there was Enclave 13, the utopian hypercity that became Vasquez's early adopted home. Plucked from the wasteland at a very young age, he was hosed down, suited up and conscripted into the military academy.

It was within the walls of this academy that a young Vasquez would come to meet two of his future Dread Squad mates, Lensman and Thundersticks. One enclave born, the other a fellow wasteland refugee. All 3 excelled in the military academy with Vasquez specializing in ground tactics, Lensman becoming an expert marksman, and Thundersticks, well, he excelled at mayhem. Once out of the academy Vasquez quickly worked his way up the military ladder and into the ranks of Enclave 13's Heavy Troopers.

The baddest of the bad ass. Wired, armed and armored for everything the surrounding wastelands can throw at them. When things get tense you call in the guards but when the shit hits the pretty, chrome, perfectly oscillating fan of Enclave 13, you call in these bastards: The Heavy Troopers.

Locks by Coarse Toys.

New Life

With each emergence of the sun, the fruits grew bigger and fatter, the Locks inside them sprouting sleek heads and monstrous hands so big and heavy that their shells weakened before the creatures’ feet could grow. All at once, they came plummeting down from the trees, some so heavy they tore down entire branches. Angry at the captivity to which creation had confined them, each one sought a way out of the forest, using one hand to propel him far into the air and the other to break his fall and launch him forth again.
Along the way, they soared beneath a paw! tree as it sprinkled down fresh tiny monkey rabbits. For a moment, each creature stopped, their kernel brains trying to assess whether or not the foreigner was an enemy. The earth rumbled as the horde of newborns went out into the meadows together, freedom awaiting them in the boundlessness of their new world.
